How the math works

Concentration equals the vial amount converted to micrograms divided by the water volume in milliliters. The volume you draw equals your target dose divided by that concentration. Multiplying that volume by 100 converts it to units on a U-100 insulin syringe. Doses per vial is the total micrograms in the vial divided by your dose.

How does peptide reconstitution work?

Reconstitution mixes a lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptide with bacteriostatic water. The vial strength in milligrams divided by the water volume in milliliters gives the concentration. Dividing your target dose by that concentration gives the volume to draw.

What does 'units' mean on the calculator?

A standard U-100 insulin syringe is marked in units where 100 units equals 1 mL. The calculator converts the required volume into those units so the number matches the syringe markings.

Does adding more bacteriostatic water change the dose?

It does not change the amount of peptide, only the concentration. More water spreads the same peptide across a larger volume, so each dose is drawn at more units, which can make small doses easier to measure accurately.
