Overview
Elecoglipron is a non-peptide GLP-1 receptor agonist licensed from Eccogene. The VISTA Phase 2b study of 310 adults produced 10.5% weight loss at 26 weeks on 75 mg against 0.6% on placebo, published in The Lancet and presented at ADA 2026. AstraZeneca announced Phase 3 trials in obesity, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular and kidney outcomes, and plans combinations with its amylin analog AZD6234.
