SR9009 (stenabolic)

A REV-ERB agonist marketed as an exercise mimetic; animal data only, very poor oral bioavailability, and published work questioning whether its effects even run through REV-ERB.

Overview

SR9009 modulates the circadian nuclear receptor REV-ERB and, in a 2012 Nature paper, changed metabolism and reduced fat in mice. It has no human trials. Later studies showed it is barely absorbed orally and short-lived, and that some of its cellular effects occur in cells lacking REV-ERB, so the marketed story does not match the pharmacology.
