What Eloralintide is

Lilly's selective amylin agonist that reached about 20% weight loss in Phase 2 with milder gut side effects than GLP-1 drugs, now in Phase 3 alone and as an add-on to tirzepatide.

Eloralintide is a once-weekly amylin receptor agonist with no direct GLP-1 activity. 4% on placebo, with gastrointestinal tolerability that looked better than the GLP-1 class.

Mechanism: Activates amylin receptors (calcitonin receptor plus RAMP complexes), slowing gastric emptying and reducing appetite through a pathway that is independent of GLP-1.

Regulatory history: Investigational; Phase 3 (ENLIGHTEN program)

How MHRA treats this kind of product

Licenses medicines for the UK market. A compound without a marketing authorisation is an unlicensed medicine, which can only lawfully be supplied for human use through a prescriber under the specials scheme, not sold as a research product.

The classification above is the The Longevity Archive reading of Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency listings for Eloralintide at the reviewed date, not a legal opinion. Rules change, and importing, prescribing and possessing a compound can each be treated differently. Check the regulator directly before acting on anything here.
