Selank is a synthetic analogue of the immunomodulatory peptide tuftsin, developed in Russia as an anxiolytic. Research describes reduced anxiety, effects on GABAergic and serotonergic systems, and modulation of BDNF, generally without the sedation or dependence associated with benzodiazepines.
