Thymopentin (TP-5, thymopoietin fragment)

A pentapeptide fragment of thymopoietin studied and used in some countries as an immune modulator.

Overview

Thymopentin is a synthetic pentapeptide corresponding to the active site of the thymic hormone thymopoietin. It modulates T-cell development and immune function and has been used clinically in some countries for immune deficiencies, autoimmune conditions, and as an adjuvant. It is not FDA-approved but has a more defined clinical history than many research peptides.

Reproduces the active region of thymopoietin to promote T-cell differentiation and immune regulation.

Is thymopentin the same as thymosin alpha-1?

No. Both come from thymic peptide research but they are different molecules from different thymic hormones. Thymosin alpha-1 has wider international approval.
