What Trodusquemine is
An aminosterol PTP1B inhibitor from dogfish shark that regenerated heart tissue in zebrafish and mice and caused fat-specific weight loss in obese mice; early human trials never produced published efficacy.
Trodusquemine blocks protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B, a brake on insulin and leptin signaling, and crosses into the brain. Animal studies showed weight loss confined to fat and regeneration of heart and other tissues after injury.
