New Peptides and Longevity Compounds in 2026: What Is Actually New, What Is Newly Legal, and What Is Just New to Vendors

What are the most promising peptides for 2026?

By trial evidence, the most promising 2026 compounds are the next-generation obesity drugs: eloralintide (20.1 percent weight loss at 48 weeks in Phase 2, now Phase 3), enicepatide (22.5 percent at 48 weeks), ribupatide (19.2 percent in Phase 3), and berobenatide (monthly GLP-1). In muscle preservation, apitegromab awaits an FDA decision on September 30, 2026. Nothing sold on the gray market as 'new' in 2026 has comparable data.

We added 68 compounds to the database in September 2026 after a review of the pharmaceutical pipeline and of what the peptide community is actually discussing. This post sorts them. Every name links to a profile with citations, and each entry states its evidence tier using the same five labels we use everywhere: human randomized trial, human pilot or observational, animal, in vitro, none.

Part 1: pipeline drugs with human trial data

Obesity and metabolic

Two already-covered drugs changed status: orforglipron was approved on April 1, 2026 as Foundayo, the first GLP-1 pill, and retatrutide reported 28.3 percent weight loss at 80 weeks in its pivotal TRIUMPH-1 trial in May 2026. Muscle preservation

Liver, longevity and brain

• FGF21 analogs efruxifermin, pegozafermin and monthly efimosfermin are in Phase 3 for fatty liver disease; efruxifermin reversed cirrhosis in some patients at 96 weeks.
• BGE-102, an NLRP3 inhibitor, cut the inflammation marker hsCRP by a median 86 percent in two weeks in Phase 1.
• Foselutoclax is the most advanced senolytic, matching a biologic on vision in diabetic macular edema.
• ER-100 dosed the first human with partial epigenetic reprogramming in June 2026.
• Trontinemab cleared amyloid in 91 percent of Alzheimer's patients in seven months with little ARIA; Phase 3 is running.
• RTR242, Retro Biosciences' oral autophagy enhancer, entered Phase 1 in December 2025. It has no efficacy data yet.

Part 2: what the community is discussing (and the evidence tier)

Also added: MGF, IGF-1 DES, trodusquemine, PTD-DBM, CMS-121, SkQ1, trigonelline, AICAR, SR9009, AHK-Cu, Ac-SDKP, B7-33, orexin-A, N-acetyl Semax amidate, GB-115, and five Khavinson bioregulators (Cortagen, Bronchogen, Livagen, Pancragen, Chonluten), all of which share the same limitation: one research lineage, no independent replication, no human trials.

FLGR-242 and RTR242 are not the same thing

FLGR-242 is a gray-market recombinant follistatin fragment sold since late 2025 for muscle growth; no study has ever been published on it. RTR242 is an oral autophagy-enhancing drug from Retro Biosciences that entered a regulated Phase 1 trial in December 2025 for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. The names look alike; the compounds, the evidence and the risk are unrelated.

Part 3: what is newly legal

Nothing, yet. The July 2026 FDA advisory votes recommended BPC-157, TB-500, KPV, MOTS-c, Epitalon and Semax for compounding, but the votes are non-binding and the FDA has not acted. Details, with the vote counts and the FDA staff positions, are in the FDA peptide status tracker.

What is the hottest peptide right now?

By search and vendor activity in September 2026: FLGR-242, KLOW, klotho and retatrutide. By evidence: retatrutide (pivotal Phase 3 complete), eloralintide and enicepatide (large Phase 2s), and apitegromab (FDA decision this month). The two lists barely overlap, which is the point of keeping a cited database.
