New Peptides and Longevity Compounds in 2026: What Is Actually New, What Is Newly Legal, and What Is Just New to Vendors

A sorted guide to the 68 compounds we added in September 2026: the pharma pipeline with trial numbers, the community-trending products with their evidence tier, and the ones with safety flags, including FLGR-242, RTR242, klotho, eloralintide and berobenatide.

Key takeaways

  • 'New peptide' searches in 2026 mix three different things: drugs with trial data (eloralintide, berobenatide, enicepatide), a regulatory story (the July 2026 compounding votes), and vendor launches with no data (FLGR-242, BRP, CMS-121).
  • The biggest real news is in obesity: eloralintide reached 20 percent weight loss with better tolerability, enicepatide 22.5 percent, and berobenatide is heading for monthly dosing. Orforglipron became the first GLP-1 pill approved (April 2026; 11.2 to 12.4 percent at 72 weeks depending on the analysis).
  • The muscle-preservation class is close: apitegromab has an FDA decision due September 30, 2026 and preserved 55 percent of lean mass on tirzepatide in Phase 2.
  • FLGR-242, the most talked-about 'new' muscle product, has zero published studies. RTR242, which it is often confused with, is a regulated Phase 1 drug.
  • Several trending products carry safety signals worth knowing: methylene blue with antidepressants, cardarine's carcinogenicity, PNC-27's contamination warning, BAM15's uncoupler class.

What are the most promising peptides for 2026?

By trial evidence, the most promising 2026 compounds are the next-generation obesity drugs: eloralintide (20.1 percent weight loss at 48 weeks in Phase 2, now Phase 3), enicepatide (22.5 percent at 48 weeks), ribupatide (19.2 percent in Phase 3), and berobenatide (monthly GLP-1). In muscle preservation, apitegromab awaits an FDA decision on September 30, 2026. Nothing sold on the gray market as 'new' in 2026 has comparable data.

We added 68 compounds to the database in September 2026 after a review of the pharmaceutical pipeline and of what the peptide community is actually discussing. This post sorts them. Every name links to a profile with citations, and each entry states its evidence tier using the same five labels we use everywhere: human randomized trial, human pilot or observational, animal, in vitro, none.

Two already-covered drugs changed status: orforglipron was approved on April 1, 2026 as Foundayo, the first GLP-1 pill, and retatrutide reported 28.3 percent weight loss at 80 weeks in its pivotal TRIUMPH-1 trial in May 2026. For how those numbers compare across trial lengths, see Retatrutide vs tirzepatide vs semaglutide vs the pill.

Part 2: what the community is discussing (and the evidence tier)

BAM15Mitochondrial uncouplerAnimalSame class as DNP; no human data

Also added: MGF, IGF-1 DES, trodusquemine, PTD-DBM, CMS-121, SkQ1, trigonelline, AICAR, SR9009, AHK-Cu, Ac-SDKP, B7-33, orexin-A, N-acetyl Semax amidate, GB-115, and five Khavinson bioregulators (Cortagen, Bronchogen, Livagen, Pancragen, Chonluten), all of which share the same limitation: one research lineage, no independent replication, no human trials.

FLGR-242 and RTR242 are not the same thing

FLGR-242 is a gray-market recombinant follistatin fragment sold since late 2025 for muscle growth; no study has ever been published on it. RTR242 is an oral autophagy-enhancing drug from Retro Biosciences that entered a regulated Phase 1 trial in December 2025 for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. The names look alike; the compounds, the evidence and the risk are unrelated.

Nothing, yet. The July 2026 FDA advisory votes recommended BPC-157, TB-500, KPV, MOTS-c, Epitalon and Semax for compounding, but the votes are non-binding and the FDA has not acted. Details, with the vote counts and the FDA staff positions, are in the FDA peptide status tracker.

What is the hottest peptide right now?

By search and vendor activity in September 2026: FLGR-242, KLOW, klotho and retatrutide. By evidence: retatrutide (pivotal Phase 3 complete), eloralintide and enicepatide (large Phase 2s), and apitegromab (FDA decision this month). The two lists barely overlap, which is the point of keeping a cited database.

Frequently asked questions

What are the newest peptides?

New drug candidates with 2026 data include eloralintide, enicepatide, berobenatide, aleniglipron and UBT251. New gray-market products include FLGR-242, pentadeca arginate and BRP, none with published data.

What are the top 3 peptides to take?

This site does not recommend taking anything. By strength of evidence, the top three peptide drugs are approved GLP-1 medicines (semaglutide, tirzepatide) and, for one rare disease, elamipretide.

Which new peptides are approved by the FDA?

In the last year: elamipretide (Forzinity, Barth syndrome, Sept 2025), navepegritide (Yuviwel, achondroplasia, Feb 2026), the Wegovy pill (Dec 2025) and Wegovy HD (Mar 2026). Orforglipron (Foundayo, April 2026) is a small molecule rather than a peptide.
